I Blame Heredity

Epiphany:–noun, sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience.

Last night, the Brother and I were watching Bones on Star World. It's a show where a forensic scientist and an FBI agent play 'Whose Bones Are These?' while building up a Scully-Mulder kind of sexual chemistry. Last night's show was about, well, a lot of things, but there was this part where the team discovers that a man shoved his brother into a freezer for five years and then fed the frozen body to a wood-chipper, which consequently sprayed the bits all over the place*.

I know. I love primetime television too. But moving on.

Brother: What is that stuck in the freezer wall?
Me: A fingernail.
Brother:(in utter disbelief) A fingernail.
Me: Yes.
Brother: How come it's still there?
Me: It's a freezer. Obviously the nail's going to be frozen intact.
Brother: No, that's not my point.
Me: Then what is?
Brother: He didn't clean the freezer for five years...

It runneth in the family, this plague.

* I'm a little sick that way. I almost whooped for joy when I saw a 'Coming Soon' promo for the next season of Criminal Minds.
